Dr. Cao and the staff at Riverstone have been phenomenal over the course of my treatment ever since I sustained a dental injury during a routine surgery at a local hospital. While in the hospital, I was able to make an appointment after my expected discharge. Although I was discharged later than expected, the team confirmed for me to head straight to the office. Upon arrival, they immediately began the assessment with x-rays and physical examination. It was quickly confirmed that my front incisor and recent work on my front tooth implant were not salvageable and my other front tooth had experienced trauma that likely would need future work. Despite the late hour on a Friday afternoon, they began prepping me for extraction of the tooth and implanted stud. Given my surgery the previous day, immediate attention was needed to prevent an infection. Without further complications, the area was cleaned and bone graft material implanted. I was also measured for a two-tooth plate for vanity issues. Not only did I appreciate the key staff staying to assist, but their swift professional actions were noteworthy. And more importantly, the compassion and understanding exhibited by Dr. Cao was rare and comforting. I was so upset with what my smile had become, and how long it would take for the entire implant procedure over the next 6-9 months. Everyone’s sincere and genuine concern for my well-being both physical and emotional was just what this patient needed most. Their compassion put me at ease and healed my psyche. Over the next 10 months, my care was first rate, and I was informed about every step including any change in the timeline. Dr. Cao often requested diagnostics and imaging that while not required and certainly not covered by my insurance, were necessary to ensure that I was meeting all my healing milestones. These extra images were never billed. Rather, it is a testament to his drive to provide great care while ensuring that my dental outcomes were met. He was not just replacing my extracted teeth with functional implants but was striving to restore my smile to what it once was! Everything went pretty much as planned. The health of my remaining front tooth that sustained trauma but remained intact progressively declined. I opted for a root canal to help ensure a long life and prevent any potential future infection that could ultimately impact my implants someday. I finally got to see my smile again for the first time. The journey had come to an end the results were fantastic. I recognized the individual in the mirror again. It’s truly remarkable what modern dentistry, a skilled and compassionate dentist, and a first-rate support team can accomplish. It’s clear that Dr. Cao takes pride in his work and his profession and inspires his team to do the same. This is what a patient should expect but is too often not what one experiences in today’s healthcare system.

What is the Mouth-Body Connection® ?

The Mouth-Body Connection® refers to the link between oral health and overall health, and the role that the harmful bacteria and inflammation in our mouths play in chronic, systemic disease. That’s why it’s time we talked about more than your teeth. Our office prioritizes your overall health as it relates to your oral health. When we care for your smile we’re also looking out for your entire self.
